| 2002 marks the 40th anniversary of the Majestics Car Club. We had an anniversary party on August 31 - September 1 weekend. Most past members as well as their spouses attended and all had a great time. There was a great display of past memorabilia as well as a few wild stories about past as well as present members. There will be more to come as well as pictures as soon as we get them scanned.
MAJESTICS 40th ANNIVERSARY WEEKEND The Majestics Car Club of Regina celebrated it’s 40th
anniversary on the September long weekend in 2002. Since the club started back in 1962, 104 members have been involved with the
club. For the weekend, 64 current and ex-members attended, with one ex-member
traveling here from British Columbia. Sadly, 5 ex-members have passed away over
the years and unfortunately, a number of ex-members could not be located. About 125 people attended the weekend festivities, which included an open
house at the club garage Friday night, a display of club memorabilia and a
banquet at the Delta Hotel Saturday and a breakfast and Show & Shine at the
Regina Casino on Sunday. The highlight of the weekend had to be the after-dinner speech delivered by
Tom Mahar, the club’s first president, which vividly described the times and
events leading up to the establishment of the club. It is interesting to note
that the goals and objectives of those young men back in 1962 are still
applicable and in use today. Everyone had a great weekend reminiscing and socializing. Hopefully all those
who attended, plus other ex-members will be around for the 50th or
perhaps we should have a 45th, just to keep the gang together? To
that end, the club will maintain the Contact List. So if you locate a
"lost" ex-member, or change your address or more important your e-mail
address, please notify the club. Here are some pictures of the anniversary, we hope you enjoy them. |
