The Majestics Car Club of Regina celebrated it’s 40th anniversary on the September long weekend in 2002.
Since the club started back in 1962, 106 members have been involved with the club. For the weekend, 64 current and ex-members attended, with one ex-member traveling here from British Columbia. Sadly, 5 ex-members have passed away over the years and unfortunately, a number of ex-members could not be located.
About 125 people attended the weekend festivities, which included an open house at the club garage Friday night, a display of club memorabilia and a banquet at the Delta Hotel Saturday and a breakfast and Show & Shine at the Regina Casino on Sunday.
The highlight of the weekend had to be the after-dinner speech delivered by Tom Mahar, the club’s first president, which vividly described the times and events leading up to the establishment of the club. It is interesting to note that the goals and objectives of those young men back in 1962 are still applicable and in use today.
Everyone had a great weekend reminiscing and socializing. Hopefully all those who attended, plus other ex-members will be around for the 50th.
The club will maintain a Contact List. So if you locate a "lost" ex-member, or change your address or more important your e-mail address, please notify the club.
Here are some pictures of the anniversary, we hope you enjoy them.
